Jo started Sheepway Meats in 2007 in partnership with her father Colin. It was noticed that there was a need for a Butchers shop for the growing population of Portishead, and this along with the fact that people now care about where their food comes from made it the perfect decision.
Prior to starting the business Jo completed the equivalent of A levels at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire in Countryside Management before staying on to do her degree in Agriculture and Conservation.
This gives her a good background in the issues surrounding the countryside and how those living there have had to diversify to ensure that they recieve a fair price for everything produced there.
John has got over 50 years of experience as a Butcher. This included owning two successful butchers shops. The first in Knowle, and then he set up Masons of the Mall in Clifton in 1988 until shutting in 2002. After this he worked occassionally in Bristol before joining Sheepway meats in 2009, and his wealth of experience has been a great asset in our continued expansion Jan
Jan has worked here right from the start in 2007, making our sausages which have earned a widespread reputation built on the quality of the ingredients.
James joined Sheepway Meats in April 2014. After 12 years at Airbus as an aircraft engineer, and having won apprentice of the year 3 times, he decided on a career change and to join the family business. He is currently in training and learning the ropes.
